LEMOSHO ROUTE

The Lemosho Route is a longer and more remote route to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s known for its breathtaking scenery, diverse landscapes, and higher chances of successful acclimatization. This route is ideal for those seeking a more gradual ascent and a less crowded trekking experience. Here’s an overview of the Lemosho Route.

Overview of the Lemosho Route

The Lemosho Route is widely considered the most scenic and versatile trail on Mount Kilimanjaro, combining beautiful landscapes with an excellent acclimatisation profile. It approaches the mountain from the remote western side and merges with the Machame Route at Shira Plateau.

Lemosho offers trekkers panoramic views, varied terrain, and fewer crowds in the early days. Its longer duration — usually 7 or 8 days — allows ample time for altitude adjustment, giving it one of the highest summit success rates of all Kilimanjaro routes.

This route is perfect for those who want a more peaceful wilderness experience without sacrificing summit chances or scenic diversity.
